About the project
In this publication, you will find pieces of speculative histories made by Indonesian women, prompted by what could be found of Indonesian women within archives. If we could only work with the precious ruins of history, then we would dream the rest of it.

This is an archive of speculative history. Each narrative entry is based on archival material gleaned from multiple cultural institutions such as museums and press offices. All the contributors are Indonesian women, reclaiming their history through the multi-ownership nature of stories.

This is a community effort responding to the institutions that dictate what is important enough to be canonized and what should only be alive outside the margins of history.
